About this site

This project was born from a conversation on Twitter following a post on my other blog, Play, Eat, Learn, Live, about an old hidden house that the kids and I drove past. (That house, the Carter Mansion, will be the subject of the first post here). Writing about that home and the investigations into it inspired me with enthusiasm for digging up other old, half-hidden houses and delving into their history. Unless I am able and permitted to take my own photographs, you'll find most posts here are image-light. I do not go for breaching copyright by using other people's images, whether that be Google Maps or an individual. Hopefully, the text (and the links) will tell the story well enough!
